this is a one-take song, made as soundtrack for this , soberly titled, vibe-wise slightly inspired by b. springsteen’s ‘state trooper’, which i heard in the closing credits of a sopranos episode. very cathartic.

spiegel im spiegel becomes a little nicely dissonant when played through a sampler. excuse the synth in the beginning. tomorrow i’m in london for 16 hours. maybe i’ll meet somebody.

maybe i should stop having my drops confirmed by rock people. still so far away from the ever-blending endless dance dramaturgies i admire. then again, i can be schooled by my own songs, or by playing a stoned show, or by being sad and slow, or by just having a lot of time. four is a magic number. but then again so is five.

half a year ago i was invited to play a DJ set at picknick, berlin. i’m not a real dj, but if somebody asks me i do it and i like it. for this set i got a little too excited as it was only a garage in the back of the building with a little bar, half outside, some lost summer acolytes, and me playing almost every mp3 i have for 6 hours, pushing the button on the fog machine once in a while. but in preparation i made some supposedly clubby edits of songs and songs-to-be, and there you have it.
