this is a one-take song, made as soundtrack for this , soberly titled, vibe-wise slightly inspired by b. springsteen’s ‘state trooper’, which i heard in the closing credits of a sopranos episode. very cathartic.

as this song will never have a finished, or better, final form, i will just keep bombarding you with ‘versions’ of it from time to time. this is a fun one for both the hair and the scissor, i would guess.

spiegel im spiegel becomes a little nicely dissonant when played through a sampler. excuse the synth in the beginning. tomorrow i’m in london for 16 hours. maybe i’ll meet somebody.

maybe i should stop having my drops confirmed by rock people. still so far away from the ever-blending endless dance dramaturgies i admire. then again, i can be schooled by my own songs, or by playing a stoned show, or by being sad and slow, or by just having a lot of time. four is a magic number. but then again so is five.

half a year ago i was invited to play a DJ set at picknick, berlin. i’m not a real dj, but if somebody asks me i do it and i like it. for this set i got a little too excited as it was only a garage in the back of the building with a little bar, half outside, some lost summer acolytes, and me playing almost every mp3 i have for 6 hours, pushing the button on the fog machine once in a while. but in preparation i made some supposedly clubby edits of songs and songs-to-be, and there you have it.

i’m in a real labyrinth of how i think lyrics should be. i’m intrigued by the clear-ness and face-ness and truth-ness of all the rap and r’n’b i’ve been listening to. i’m against content-less nature-lyricism anyway, but how hard should one tie those riddles? off to the studio.

i saw myself on tv, said a lot of ‘so’. rihanna played in poland yesterday. gute besserung, brother p. ovidius naso. i’m growing my hair long, to be looking like clearly not military. if i don’t write sth down, i forget it.

that’s me & dustin dollin (!) at the airport in vienna, i made him listen to shabazz palaces (“that is stoner rap!”) and i listened to small sidney bands he records for free.

an archive.org cylinder recording i can’t refind and the walkmen’s lisbon horn section and a beat, and i don’t know a few hours too much time a year ago.

like i said before, of all specific environments or platformish attractions of nature, the sea beats the other contestants, especially mountains in being something to look at for hours. because it moves, because it noises.
